About Dr. Grossman

Elizabeth M. Grossman is a board-certified Dermatologist. She completed her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Human Biology with a focus in medical anthropology. She then returned to her native Chicago to attend The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. While in medical school, she received a scholarship to pursue her Master’s in Business Administration at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Her specific area of interest and study was healthcare disparities among underprivileged populations. Dr. Grossman graduated from The University of Chicago’s prestigious joint program in five years earning both a Doctorate of Medicine and a Master’s in Business Administration. She went on to Northwestern University where she completed her dermatology residency and served as Chief Resident of medical education her final year.

Upon completing her residency, Dr. Grossman served as a Clinical Instructor at Northwestern University. Dr. Grossman was responsible for resident and medical student training and frequently recognized for her efforts. In 2014, Dr. Grossman joined Carolinas HealthCare in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in Charlotte, she was consistently recognized as a Top Dermatologist by Charlotte Magazine. Dr. Grossman has authored numerous papers in peer-reviewed medical journals as well as book chapters in plastic surgery and has presented at local and national meetings. She specializes primarily in medical dermatology including skin cancer, acne, rashes, and has a special interested in understanding the chemicals in sunscreen.

Dr. Grossman is new to Santa Barbara and enjoys traveling and being outdoors (while wearing lots of sunscreen) with her husband and three children.
