About Dr. Beaulieu
Derek Beaulieu (“Bo-lee-you”), MD, is board-certified dermatologist with the subspecialty fellowship training in Mohs surgery and reconstruction. He was born and raised in New Hampshire, completing high school there. He completed his undergraduate education at Western New England University in Springfield, MA, where he graduated summa cum laude with a double-major in biology and chemistry. Dr. Beaulieu received his medical doctorate degree with research honors distinction from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, During his medical training, he was awarded a competitive NIH TL1 research grant which allowed him to pursue an additional year of education in research methods at the Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
He went on to pursue residency training in Dermatology at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics where he served as a Chief Resident in his final year. Thereafter he was fortunate to secure a position in a highly competitive fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX). His fellowship program provided extensive training in advanced reconstructive techniques as well as the use of Mohs surgery for melanoma in situ and early invasive melanoma.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Beaulieu has published several peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters surrounding skin cancer screening and treatment and has presented his findings at national and regional meetings.
Dr. Beaulieu has a passion for dermatology and has devoted his career to skin cancer prevention, early detection, and tissue-sparing treatments. He strongly believes in treating each patient individually and works with his patients to devise a treatment plan that aligns with their values and goals.
When away from the office, Dr. Beaulieu loves spending time with his wife and friends. His hobbies include exploring wine country, golfing, rooting for Boston sports teams, and traveling.
